The British wheelchair doubles pair who had thought their Paralympic partnership was over were one match from gold last night. Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett's shot at gold in Tokyo, which ended with a silver medal, seemed to be their last because the International Tennis Federation had deemed Hewett not disabled enough to compete. But after a change in classification rules, Hewett was cleared to continue playing and reached another final as he and Reid defeated French pair Frederic Cattaneo and Stephane Houdet 6-4, 6-3.
