It certainly made sense to enjoy a long engagement, given the pair had been dating for less than a year before the “personal and intimate proposal.†The duo reportedly met while co-writing her pop-punk track “Substance†in January 2022, with Lovato “instantly†forming a crush on the songwriter, as she later told Teen Vogue.
